The scarlet letter essay topics?!?

ok so i have a paper due on the scarlet letter. i need a topic to write about and i have no idea what to write about. i didn't really read the book so i really don't know what's going on. but i need to write an outline on it by tomorrow. ive already checked spark notes and all those other websites that are supposed to help, but they didnt help at all! so if anyone could help me out with an easy idea to write about i'd greatly appreciate it! :) thank you!
