Places to see in PA and NC?

Since I'm applying to medical school this summer, I wanted to go check out some of the areas around some schools I applied to, especially in states we haven't been to before. I was wondering that for people who haven't been to PA and NC, specifically in the areas of Philadelphia, Hershey, Raleigh, and Durham, what places should we be sure to go and see? We don't have a lot of time to go sight-seeing mainly because we'll be spending a lot of time touring campuses, so I wanted to know the main places we should go. Thanks!
