SATs: HOW to improve and/ or get a prefect score?

I am a pretty smart kid. My GPA is about a 4.3 and i am trying to get into ivy league schools for engineering like Cornell or Columbia. I know that SAT scores are not necessarily everything but i know they mean a lot. Since my GPA is not that great, i really want to get a perfect score on the SATs. My PSAT score was a 1980 without any practice. What should i do to to get a perfect score on my SATs. What are some tips for studying, because i am willing to study for however long i need to every day until i get a 2400. Should i just do as many practice tests as i humanly can? Please help!
