Christians: Do any of you feel that letting Jesus pay for your sins is just perpetuating evil?

Why must their always be a scape goat? Why can't we take responsibility for the fact that we are imperfect. If you sacrificed any other human for your sins it would be evil. So could it be that Jesus really just wanted us to take accountability for our sins like he did instead of always relying on the idea of needing a scapegoat to blame for the fact that we are afraid lonely and scared. Why do i feel that so many Christians miss that message? I don't think that Christians and atheist are very far away in their humanity i think that they are just expressing it differently due to who they are and their experiences.
