HELP WITH FRIENDS PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

okay so my friend started her 2nd period today...we are leaving for Florida tomorrow....her gma told her not to wear a tampon so she doesn't want to but its not like u can go and not swim or anything for a whole week....could she wear a pad in the water? or how can we make sure she goes and wont leak or anything...she asked me and i said say u forgot ur swim suit bottoms and wear shorts with a pad in the ocean and just don't get in the pool ...would that work? any suggestions would be amazing!!
